The professionalisation of the career guidance workforce has been an aspiration for many countries. The extent to which this has been successful has varied, for most countries there has been partial success as elements of professionalisation have been established. 
In the keynote speech delivered by Dr Siabhan Neary , Head of iCeGS (Acting), outlined the 8 factors that contribute to professionalising the workforce. To explore how professionalisation is working, examples from other countries including the UK were used.

A number of stakeholders engaged in an interactive discussion concerning the key challenges faced by stakeholders in the field when professionalising the sector. The audience was encouraged to participate in the discussion by asking questions and sharing their experiences regarding the topic.
